JANGER DANCE
The dance is performed by twelve girls and twelve
boys. The girls divide into two groups facing each other from
opposite sides of a square. The boys divide similarly into two
groups facing one another on the other two sides of the square. The
leader sits on a mat in the centre. The girls wear a distinctive
head dress in the form of a tooled leather tiara extended with paper
flowers. Their dresses are of gold with tooled leather collars and
belts. The boys wear a velvet vest over their white shirts.
