Balinese FROG DANCE

Balinese Frog DanceOnce upon a time, when there were Hinduism Kingdoms in Java Island there lived a couple of husband and wife. They had no child. One day they went to a forest looking for fire wood. In the forest they were tired and thirsty. It was difficult to find water, and then the wife saw a coconut shell. The coconut shell filled with water. She was very happy then immediately takes it and drink the water. A few minutes later she felt her stomach moved into a change. She felt that she was pregnant.

On the way back home they met a big frog but they didn't pay attention to the big frog. A few days after the incident, she gave birth to a frog. The couple was amazed as if they were not believed what was happen. Although their son was in a shape of a frog they loved their son as if it was a baby. As year passed by the frog grow to become adult. When he met a princess of Daha he fell in love to the princess. Then he asked his mother to arrange his engagement with the beautiful princess.

When the frog's mother applied the princess the King was extremely angry. He ordered his Chief Minister to execute her. But he promised that if the minister failed in killing her he would permit the frog to marry the princess.
When the Chief Minister tried to kill the frog's mother he was always failed. He couldn't kill her. The king believed that the woman possessed a strong magical power. Finally he permitted his daughter to be married to the frog.

The frog was so ashamed to his face. Then he decided to pray at the top of Mahameru Mountain in a hope he would be granted a human form. Because of the power of his faith he was changed into a handsome and strong boy. In his meditation he received a vision that he himself was a prince of Janggala who died when the eruption of Kelud mountain, and he had been reborn in the form of a frog. After changing into a handsome boy and knew that he was prince he back to his wife (the princess) then he held wonderful wedding ceremony. All kings in java were invited in order to know that the frog actually was the prince of Janggala who had been reincarnated as frog. Finally they live happily and the prince had been a king ruled Kahuripan Kingdom.
